Benefit Dance Show

San Ramon High School is presenting its 3rd Annual BENEFIT DANCE SHOW on Saturday, February 8, 2014.  The show will be held in the SRVHS Performing Arts Center in Danville.  This year's designated charity is Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area.  Dancers, from 4 local high schools and 3 dance studios, have created a wonderful evening of catchy tunes, lively dance numbers, and a whole ton of fun!  This event began as a way for the performers to make a substantial donation to a local charity.  Each year this benefit show has raised more money than the last, and the dancers have their fingers crossed for a sold-out event. Tickets ($15 each) can be purchased at the door, or you can contact cmacphail@ srvhs.org.Many little girls (and boys) have requested a dance-themed wish over the years.  The Bay Area chapter was thrilled to create a lifetime memory a few years ago--
Dayssi was the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 4500th wish, and to make matters extra special, Dayssi’s wish came in two parts.  First, Dayssi and her family were invited to the San Francisco Ballet for a very special meet and greet with a principle dancer.  Dayssi and her sister danced around the facilities in their special tutus, ate ballet-decorated cupcakes, and even got in a little bar practice with a real ballerina.             Part two came with an invitation to a matinee performance of “The Nutcracker”.  Dayssi was so excited with the festivities she could hardly sit still in her seat; she wanted to be on stage with the other dancers!  Her favorite part of the production was when they made it snow on stage!  Dayssi’s day ended with some magical time backstage where she saw dressing rooms, met other ballerinas, and got a special tour.             Her mom said Dayssi could not stop talking about her wish day.  The family has tons of beautiful pictures to treasure forever!  Dayssi’s wish brings very special meaning to the phrase “tiny dancer”!
This is what it is all about; local Danville dancers want to help more wishes (dance-related or not!) come to life.
