Young Musicians Prepare for Holiday Concert

The wonderfully talented young musicians of the Young Performers String Orchestra and the Diablo Regional Youth Orchestra are busy preparing for the annual winter concert. A program of Civic Arts Education in Walnut Creek, the orchestras will perform music by Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn and Bach. A special holiday selection performed by the cello ensemble is also included in the program. "Our young orchestra members should be losing three pounds at each practice," says conductor Rem Djemilev. "They put so much energy into the music. In fact, there should be a small amount of saw dust under the seats of the cello players because they have to really drive the tempo"!
