Meats and greens.. NO MORE BREADY, carb-heavy, starchy, white, grain-based things - that means no more soda of any kind! High Fructose Corn Syrup is CORN - a grain. Avoid it like the plague. It is a metabolic *poison* and in 99.9% of the time when there's someone this size, there's CORN SUGARS in the food they're eating. The human body does not actively maintain a heavy weight like that (unless there's some metabolic disorder at play) so just cutting out ALL the low-fat, high-carb over-refined product and eating DOWN the food-chain - fresh salads with the things like oil and vinegar dressing - Good Seasons Italian made with BALSAMIC vinegar and OLIVE oil.. (not the cheap canola or 'vegetable' - corn - oil) throw in half an avocado for fat to control appetite, and weight WILL come off. Oils - plant oils and small amounts of animal fats - are essential to slow the whole up and down of sugar/insulin spikes that contribute to the metabolic diseases that make people get morbidly obese.. You can NOT regulate appetite as long as your blood sugar is going up and down because your diet is grain-based and carb-heavy. Glycemic LOAD. Lower it. Dietary fat is NOT EVIL! This does NOT mean however, that you can go out and eat a 'meat-lover's' pizza and a pound of chicken wings - this stuff is ALSO filled with the wrong kinds of fats and the sugars in tomato paste on the average frozen pizza - it's more sugary per equal measure than soda. Exercise LATER. Eat better first.

Robert's mom and family need education and counseling to learn how to support Robert. Robert needs regular visits with a physician, a nutritionist, and a trainer, as well as access to a pool. Perhaps there are qualified professionals in Livermore who can donate these services to Robert and his family. This simple act will save his life.
