Patch Photos Portray Pumpkin Patch

Preschoolers from Concord Family Literacy Center cavort at Shadelands yard.

It's a sea of orange at the Shadelands Pumpkin Patch at 2660 Ygnacio Valley Road.

Walnut Creek Patch caught up with a group of young pumpkin enthusiasts (whose enthusiasm includes painting pumpkins) from the preschool program at the Family Literacy Center of Mount Diablo Adult Education, which is at Meadow Homes Elementary School in Concord.

The patch is adjacent to the Shadelands Ranch Museum. The preschool and school groups get a tour with education about pumpkins, free popcorn and a petting zoo. On Friday nights there's an outdoor theater with a kid-friendly movie.
