Updated Wednesday with new photo by Brian Murphy of a view of Mount Diablo from Acalanes Ridge.

As part of the Walnut Creek Walks program, Mayor Bob Simmons will lead intrepid Walnut Creekers, starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The group meets at the intersection of Larkey Lane and Second Avenue, and heads from there up the Mount Diablo-Briones Trail. It's a four-mile walk through the Acalanes Open Space with some of the mayor's favorite views.
