Walnut Creek police reports from Jan. 2 to Jan. 5.

Tuesday, January 2

Heads up, Churchill Downs Court residents. A burglary on the court occurred overnight. A window smash to Ford Explorer damaged the vehicle, but nothing was reported stolen.

Purse found. Kudos to the kind citizen who turned in a lost purse on Locust Street. The police have it for safekeeping.

Fashion don’ts for 2012! A man wearing a black leather jacket and blue striped underpants was arrested on charges of public intoxication on the 2300 block of North Main Street at 6 p.m.

Disturbing. A 911 call reporting that four men in a car had a “large gun sticking out of the window” resulted in an officer pulling over the driver and the passengers at 9:15 p.m. on Ygnacio Valley Road. The “large gun” was an Airsoft shotgun, police reported.

Wednesday, January 3

Even trade? A woman was dropped off by a cabbie on the 1200 block of Alta Vista Drive and a friend was supposed to pay the fare. The friend did not so the driver allegedly “took her iPod.” The caller declined “any further police assistance.”

Porta fire. A Porta Potty was reported on fire near the Broadway Extension between Newell and Rudgear at 5:53 a.m. The fire department responded to the call.

Laptop haul. Nine laptops went missing from a business that had been closed for the holidays on the 200 block of North Civic Drive. An investigation is underway.

Huge haul. A woman was scammed out of $160,000 when she sent money via Western Union and cash to “three different subjects in Calgary.” It was determined it was some type of scam using the name of the Publishers Clearinghouse contest.

Thursday, January 4

Wheelchair struck. Police received a report that a car hit a woman in her wheelchair crossing the street on New Year’s Eve near the Target crosswalk on Lacassie. Her wheelchair was damaged.

That’s Creek Diva’s ‘hood buddy!' A juvenile in his late teens was seen near the back entrance of Las Lomas by the Iron Horse Trail allegedly trying to sell marijuana to students at 2:52 p.m. The boy in question was gone on police arrival.

Friday, January 5

Gun, outdoor gear stolen. A Ford 250 on the 2800 block of Fyne Drive was broken into via smashed window. A Smith and Wesson .44 Magnum, hunting knife, compass and camouflage backpack were reported stolen.

Power trip. A tenant on the 1900 block of Desert Circle found a “device that steals electricity” he suspects his landlord has his air conditioner hooked up to.

The AT&T box vandal is back. A reported $1,000 worth of damage occurred to a box sometime in the past few days on the 1700 block of North Broadway.

Sexual battery. A woman phoned police after a “neighbor’s caregiver came over to her apartment” and allegedly tried to sexually assault her on the 3000 block of North Main Street. A-32 year-old man was arrested for sexual battery.

Two thefts. Four females stole Victoria’s Secret perfume valued at $600 at 8:20 p.m. from a store. Also at Broadway Plaza, laptop computer was stolen from a Subaru Outback at 8:55 p.m.
