Creek Diva: A 4-Tire Slash, Morning Shoplifters & TP Prevention

Walnut Creek police reports from Feb. 25 to Feb. 28.

Saturday, February 25

Downtown. The downtown crackdown continues. Four subjects were arrested on charges of public intoxication and two were arrested on DUI charges all before 3 a.m. 

Know your neighbors! A caller phoned police about a man who appeared to be homeless in the Castle Hill neighborhood at 8:42 a.m. Turned out to be a man who lived nearby.

Solution needed. Kids on bicycles were told to exit the Heather Farm Skate Park at 11 a.m. Since bikes aren’t allowed at the park, where do the BMX’ers get to ride legally in this town? Ideas are welcomed, readers.

Who broke my window? Some kids were questioned and cleared by police after a neighbor heard a shattered window on El Camino Corto at 4:00 p.m.

Stolen gift cards. Job well done, Nordstrom Loss Prevention and WCPD!

Toilet paper. On the 2900 block of Ygnacio Valley Road, police stopped two who identified themselves as youth pastors from St. Matthew Lutheran Church along with a group of kids equipped with toilet paper on foot at 11:46 p.m.  Police admonished them to forgo their plot to TP a nearby home.

Sunday, February 26

B is for Busted. A group of kids were released to their parents after security at Foothill Middle School heard kids “running through the school and broken glass” at 2:23 a.m.

Possession. A man was arrested on the 1200 block of Jillian Court on charges of being in possession of narcotics at 7:03 a.m. A neighbor reported him stopping in front of nearby homes and acting suspicious.

Slashed. All four tires of a Chevy Trailblazer were slashed on the 1900 of Mt Diablo Blvd overnight.

Stolen laptop located. A juvenile was arrested on burglary charges after a laptop was stolen from a 2900 block of Mi Elana Circle at 3:25 p.m. The property was recovered after a brief search.

A suspect in mind. $15,000 worth of diamonds and gems was stolen out of a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Wednesday evening on the 1600 block of Countrywood Court. The victim “has a suspect in mind but didn’t want to say who,” according to the police report.

Pot. More bad news for a few Walnut Creek students, after two kids were cited on being in possession of marijuana at Foothill Middle School this afternoon.

Monday, February 27

Fare hopper. A $30 fare evader was reported on the 1200 block of Newell Hill Place at 3:13 a.m. Police gave advice to the cabbie to how to avoid these types of situations in the future.

Hiker robbed. A hiker had her Toyota Yaris broken into at the Sugarloaf Open Space parking lot this afternoon. A purse containing keys and a wallet were reported stolen.

Tuesday, February 28

Early shoplifters. The 24-hour Walgreens on the 2900 block of N. Main Street reported that two females allegedly stole $100 worth of nail polish, hair dryers, and massagers at 5:33 a.m. They took off in a grey Nissan with a license plate similar to 64GG244, police reported.

Salon burglarized. The newly remodeled Salon Amour on Newell was burglarized overnight. Computers, cash, and checks were reported stolen.

Wallet missing. A Mexican consulate card, $1,200 cash, ATM card were all inside a red wallet that was reported missing on Sharene Lane.

Phony docs. Several car dealerships reported a woman attempted to purchase cars with false information a week prior, and again this afternoon. Police could not locate the woman in question upon arrival.

Diva is watching. A student was bullied on the County Connection (601 or 602). Creek Diva has been known to ride the rowdy 5 bus in her neighborhood; she’s got eyes on you kids!
