Creek Diva: 'Blood & Footprints' & A Hot Tomato Bike Stolen

Walnut Creek police reports from Feb. 29 to March 2.

Wednesday, February 29

Boots and jackets. Orange snow boots and black jackets were stolen from a Toyota 4-Runner on the 100 block of Lakewood Road sometime between 2 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.

Robber at large. A bank robber remains at large,

'Blood and footprints.' A contractor reported “blood and footprints” to a home under construction on the 100 block of Greenway Drive. The unknown subject gained entry through the garage. The loss is unknown at this time.

Hefty theft. An attorney filed a police report on behalf of a beneficiary alleging that a known subject stole property and money valued at $3 million. An investigation is underway.

Thursday, March 1

Woof! A “mutt” was running around in the streets on Bonanza and Sharpe at 2:00 p.m. Animal Control was notified. Creek Diva hopes the pooch is OK. 

Timber! Several large oak tree branches were reported, “ready to fall” on the 1600 block of Carmel Drive. Readers, have you noticed a spike in dying trees around town?

Scam alert. Perhaps you have heard of “mystery shopper” jobs offered on Craigslist or other job sites. A woman phoned police after she quit her “mystery shopper” job and was threatened by her employer. The FTC has great information about this growing job scam.

G is for Grounded! A 10-year-old Murwood Elementary School student was reported missing by one of his parents after he failed to return home from school at 6 p.m. Turned out the child was playing at a friend’s house.

Stolen meat. $200 worth of meat was stolen from a grocery store on the 1900 block of Tice Valley Boulevard. The subject was not located but described as a white male in his fifties, with salt and pepper hair.

Friday, March 2

Report reckless drivers. Many reckless drivers were reported around town today. This disturbs Creek Diva a great deal. She was involved with a serious car accident a few years back with a man behind the wheel of a stolen truck driving recklessly. Call 911 to report these drivers!

Stolen Saturn. A blue Saturn, license plate 5EBX593, was reported stolen from a parking spot in front of Crogan’s on Locust Street sometime between  Feb. 24 and Feb. 26.

Stolen BMX bike. A BMX bicycle was stolen from the bike racks at Northgate High School this afternoon. The bike is a Fit Eddie 2, black frame, white handlebars, and orange wheels. It has a very distinct sticker “Hot Tomato Café.” Hope your bike is found!

Purse stolen. Ladies, hold on to your purses at the movie theater downtown. A woman reported her purse was stolen at 10:20p.m. The theft resulted in fraudulent activity on her credit cards.
