Creek Diva: Break-ins With Thefts And Vandalism, Overpass Artistry And A Wave of Catalytic Converters Stolen

Sunday, September 18

Where have all the flowers gone? To the person who is vandalizing a home on Candleberry Road, please stop! A woman reported that a flowerpot and light were broken during the night.

More home damage. A home on Las Juntas Way is listed for sale, and it was also vandalized recently. A sleeping bag and cot were stolen and a sliding door broken.

Kazoo art. The graffiti artist known as “Kazoo” has been arrested for spray-painting the 1-680 overpass. Perhaps as his punishment he can spruce up some murals at local schools?

Heads up, Marshall Drive residents. A Range Rover was broken into overnight. A piece of luggage was stolen. Indian Valley Elementary was broken into recently, not far from where this car was parked. Please be on the lookout and secure your valuables.

Monday, September 19

More copper thefts to report. Again, Las Lomas High School was targeted, and copper stolen from underground electrical boxes. 

Foot chase. A 15-year-old male was arrested after a foot pursuit. The teen was charged with stealing a loaded firearm, ammunition and jewelry from a residence on Chantilly Court. A Patch story.

Money clip clipped. A silver money clip with a significant amount of cash went missing at noon on Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Locust Street. Creek Diva hopes this is returned!

Tuesday, September 20

Fat Tuesday was months ago! Some residents on the 100 block of Candelero Place were up at 12:54 a.m making a bit too much celebration. The WCPD contacted the Tuesday night party crew, who agreed to keep it down. 

Not this again. More catalytic converters have been stolen from various neighborhoods. A Toyota Tacoma parked on the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue had one stolen overnight. A second theft from a Toyota 4Runner, this time on the 1300 block of Homestead Avenue. A third report came in at 3:40 p.m. on the 2500 block of Walnut Blvd. And lastly, the fourth reported theft from the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue, which was possibly captured on video. 

Wednesday, September 21

One more time. A resident on the 1200 block of Homestead Avenue reported a theft of a catalytic converter from a Toyota 4Runner that was parked in the rear of the complex.

Inappropriate. A concerned parent was bothered by five or six male transients who were “acting inappropriately” by the children’s playground at Civic Park at 12:06 p.m. Police gave advice to those in question.

Burglary: A home on the 1100 block of Running Springs Road was broken into between the hours of 12:40 and 2:20 p.m. Two laptops, cell phones, a camera and IPad were stolen.
