Creek Diva: Hat Thieves & A Tear Gas Possessor

Walnut Creek police reports from Aug. 15 to 17, including some Buick road rage.

Wednesday, August 15

Ladies, keep your purse close! A woman had her purse stolen at Safeway on Broadway. She said that there were fraudulent credit card charges made at Nordstrom, according to a report by the Walnut Creek Police Department.

Not in the trunk. Do not leave your valuables in your trunk. A resident on Near Court had a vehicle broken into overnight and a laptop taken out of the trunk.

Simmer down. A driver of a Buick allegedly cut another driver off on the 2000 block of Broadway at 6:22 p.m. Passengers in the Buick then started to throw garbage and rocks at the other driver, who was hit in the face and chest.

Grab ‘n’ run. Two males fled on foot after they stole seven Gucci hats from a store at Broadway Plaza this evening.

Thursday, August 16

Bicycle fatality. Creek Diva sends her condolences to his family and friends.

Drugs are bad, m’kay? A woman phoned police saying she was being followed on Oak Grove and Citrus Avenue. She was then arrested on charges of being under the influence of narcotics.

Smashed. A caller reported seeing an unknown subject smash a large window in front of the Macy’s men’s store around 7:40 p.m.

Friday, August 17

Tear gas. An ex-felon was arrested at a routine traffic stop on Ygnacio Valley and Civic at 1:38 p.m. He was charged with being in possession of tear gas with the serial number removed and violating his probation.

Sign damage. The Quaker Church sign on the 1900 block of First Avenue was damaged overnight when someone kicked the posts and sign.

Oops. A Michael Stead employee accidentally crashed a delivery truck into a home on the 500 block of Banyan Circle. Luckily, there were no injuries.
