Creek Diva: Little League Play Ball: Unruly Parents & Parked Cars

Walnut Creek police reports from April 20 to April 22.

Friday, April 20

Elder abuse. A man was arrested on elder abuse charges on the 1700 block of Stanley Dollar Drive at 2:14 a.m. Rossmoor security called to say that a woman had been beaten up by her son, police said.

Pipes, tools stolen. Copper pipes and tools were stolen from a construction site on the 2600 block of North Main Street overnight.

Fraud investigation. $26,000 went missing from a Wells Fargo investment account according to a resident on Montezuma Court. Police are investigating.

Stolen car found but … A stolen green Honda Civic was recovered in a parking lot on the 200 block of Kingston Way. A stereo was missing from the dash at the time of the recovery.

Busted. A Northgate High School student was in possession of a “large amount of marijuana and pills” at 1:40 p.m.

Bike accident. A blind man fell off his bicycle near CVS on South California Boulevard at 11:54 p.m. The police gave him sound advice, to walk his bicycle due to his vision impairment.

Saturday, April 21

Stolen VW. A red VW Beetle, license plate 5GCU955, was stolen from a garage overnight on the 2100 block of Stewart Avenue overnight.

Parking scofflaws. Opening Day of Walnut Creek Little League was moved to Castle Rock Park instead of Heather Farm this year. A record 27 cars were cited for parking violations on Hutchinson Road this morning from the parking overflow.

Garage burglary. A digital camera and pressure washer were stolen out of a detached garage on the 200 block of Lakewood Road sometime in the past week.

Not cool! An “unruly Clayton Little League parent” left prior to officer arrival at a game at Bancroft Elementary this afternoon. The parent allegedly was arguing with coaches and umpires over a call. FYI to the parent: Sounds like you violated the Little League parent code of conduct.

Sunday, April 22

Curfew violation: Four juveniles were cited for violating curfew when a concerned caller reported a group of kids hanging out near Citrus Circle at 12:44 a.m. Another was arrested for violating his probation and allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Friendly reminder. Do not leave your car parked on parts of Locust Street, Lacassie and Cole Avenues overnight. They will be towed to make room for the Sunday Farmers Market.

Flying fireball! A caller reported seeing one in the sky near Rossmoor early this morning. Perhaps it was the meteor that was seen all over Northern California.

AT&T box. The AT&T box by Black Bear Diner was vandalized overnight. Several phone and data lines were sliced. AT&T is offering a $25,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
