Creek Diva: Mass Car Break-ins During Mass, Preschool Vandalism And Other Acts of Depravity

The skinny from the police blotter Aug. 13 to 16.

Saturday, August 13

Just another Saturday night downtown. Three people were arrested on charges of public intoxication, one driving while under the influence and another on a narcotics charge all before 2 a.m. 

Blowing up. A man was arrested after he allegedly made a phone threats of wanting “to blow up the building” on the 1100 block of North Main Street at 10:56 a.m.

Perhaps leave the dogs home? Three dogs were comfortably sitting in a Mercedes that was parked near the Macy’s Men’s Store at Broadway Plaza. A caller was concerned for their safety. The dogs were not in distress and the windows were rolled down. 

Smile and confess. Several cars were broken into at St. John Vianney parking lot during the 5:30 p.m. Mass. FYI, to the thieves who broken into the cars, smile and confess — you were captured on video surveillance!

Bad party. A “college going away party” on Candleberry and Peachwillow got out of hand this evening. One partygoer was transported to the hospital for intoxication. A minor was cited on charges of being in possession of alcohol. A few hours later parents were phoned to pick up two kids, who were too incoherent to drive home.  

Sunday, August 14

Fisticuffs. A fight broke between Redux security staff and patrons at 12:10 a.m. The case is being sent to the DA for review. 

寿司の犯罪The window to C U Sushi on the 1600 block of Locust Street was kicked in sometime over night. 

Attention. Toyota 4Runner owners, yet another catalytic converter was stolen from a parked car on the 300 block of Caroni Street.  

Monday, August 15

Broken basket. The Neiman Marcus job site was vandalized over the weekend. A worker noticed a broken basket on the lift equipment, which was deemed “unusable.”

Slow down. To the driver of a large green Cadillac on Bancroft and Walnut Avenue, please stop driving recklessly. Thanks. 

Hybrid broken into. A Prius that was parked on Eckley had its rear window smashed; a briefcase, wallet, computer and checks were stolen. 

Tuesday, August 16

Not cool. A pre-school play area was vandalized over the weekend on Wiget Lane.

Squirrelly. A possible participant in the Redneck Olympics? A report of a person “shooting at squirrels from their yard” on the 2600 block of Oak Road. Please leave the squirrels alone. 

Secret agent? Five custom real estate, sandwich-style boards from various locations in Walnut Creek were stolen.
