Walnut Creek police reports from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11.

Sunday, October 9

A late crowd. WCPD was busy with the usual late night drunk and disorderly arrests downtown. Also, the always-popular Vice Lounge on Arroyo Way was warned for overcrowding at 2:09 a.m.

Symbols. A report was made at 1:05 p.m. that an unknown person “spraypainted a swastika on a manhole cover and a large compass in the middle of the street” on the 200 block of Via Monte.

Drunken soliciting. Two homeless men were drinking beer and asking people for money by a dumpster on the 2800 block of North Main Street. One was arrested for being drunk in public, the other arrested on warrant for a narcotics charge.

Monday, October 10

What happened to my sticks? A set of golf clubs found downtown by a kind citizen. The police have them in the found property department.

Car break-in. A car parked on the 1700 block of Carmel Drive was broken into overnight. An iPod and GPS device were stolen.

Watch your purse. A woman reported that her purse went missing while at the movie theater downtown. She was advised to file an online report. Go here for information about online police reporting.

Strange history. Reports of graffiti to a sound wall on Springbrook Road described as “Bush knocked down the towers” was reported at 4:09 p.m.

Through the window. A home on Sage Court was burglarized via an unlocked bedroom window. Jewelry box and $2,000 cash was reported stolen.

Tuesday, October 11

Screaming. A concerned neighbor on Oak Knoll Loop phoned police at 7:31 a.m. after hearing a female screaming. When the police arrived, a Child Protective Services report was made “for a 4-year-old due to filthy home, rotting food and other hazards.”

Another swastika. Another swastika was spray painted on the ground and on a sign near Arbolado Park.

Good vibes. Target reported a theft of a Bose sound system worth $600, which occurred a month earlier. No leads at this time.
