Man Robs Hawaiian Barbecue Place, Fires a Shot

Saturday robbery victimized restaurant employee on Willow Pass Road, Concord.

Bay City News—Concord police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a restaurant at gunpoint Saturday morning and firing an errant shot.

Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, an armed man walked into Waikiki Hawaiian Barbecue on 1680 Willow Pass Road through an unlocked back entrance and demanded cash from a female restaurant employee who was preparing for
lunch service, Lt. Steve Dyer said.

He stole a necklace from the employee, but no cash, before firing a single shot inside the restaurant and fleeing. No one was injured, Dyer said.

The suspect is described as an Asian man, who is about 6 feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt during the robbery.

Police said the robber was unknown to the restaurant employee.
