Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Struck by Bus

A pedestrian in the crosswalk in the area of Ygnacio Valley Road and Civic Drive was struck by a County Connection bus around 6:17 a.m. this morning, according to a Walnut Creek Police Nixle Alert. 

The pedestrian was taken to John Muir Hospital and police believe the pedestrian's injuries are not life-threatening

Ygnacio Valley Road was closed this morning due to the collision and reopened just after 7 a.m.

Police are investigating the collision.

Details from the Nixle Alert— 

On the above date and time a County Connection bus turning right onto westbound Ygnacio Valley Rd. from southbound Civic Dr. struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian was transported to John Muir Hospital. The pedestrian’s injuries were serious, but not believed to be life threatening.
