Police Catch Car Thieves in Walnut Creek After Brief Car Chase

Two Oakland suspects were arrested early this morning after one was seen breaking a car window.

Two suspects police say were seen breaking a car window and taking things out of it on the 2700 block of Oak Road early Friday morning were captured by police after a car and foot chase in downtown Walnut Creek. It was later determined that the car they were driving was also stolen.

A witness saw 34-year-old Sherre Rene Gaffney breaking a car window and phoned police. Gaffney and 34-year-old Joshua James Brown, both of Oakland, led police on a car chase that ended on N. Main St. The two suspects then tried to run away on foot, but were caught by police.

No one was injured during the incident.
