Police Investigate Cocaine Found in Bushes

Six grams in baggies recovered outside Lift Lounge Friday night.

Walnut Creek police are investigating several baggies of cocaine, totaling six grams, found in the bushes outside of Lift Lounge late Friday night.

Police were unable to locate who stashed them in the bushes, Lt. Steve Gorski reported.

At 11 p.m. Friday, officers on routine foot patrol downtown walked through the parking lot next to Lift Lounge on Locust Street. They noticed a small container near the bushes along the south wall (20 to 25 feet from the front entrance of Lift).

The container had several baggies of cocaine packaged in a manner consistent with drugs for sale with a street value of about $500, Gorski said.

Police have no suspects.

The Walnut Creek City Council on Feb. 7, citing the number of police calls to Lift Lounge and its parking lot, ordered Lift Lounge to scale back its last alcohol sales  from 12:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
