Sheriff Investigating Suspicious Stabbing Death

A 50-year-old man was found dead in the bathtub Friday.

The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a 50-year-old man whose girlfriend found him dead in the bathtub with a knife in his throat Friday afternoon in an unincorporated part of Walnut Creek.

Sgt. Enrique Henriquez said the sheriff’s department has an ongoing investigation and is waiting for the coroner to provide more information about the circumstances of the death before deeming it a suicide or a homicide.

Henriquez said that deputies were summoned to an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Oak Road around 4 p.m. Friday. The sheriff is not identifying the deceased.
