Sheriff's Investigators Looking for Boulevard Way Hair Salon Robber

The robber pointed a handgun at three women in the salon and took cash and other items from them.

No one was injured in a Saturday afternoon armed robbery at one of the several hair salons along Boulevard Way in Walnut Creek's Saranap neighborhood.

A man in his late 30s, wearing a Canadian mounties-style hat, entered the salon in the 1200 block of of Boulevard Way at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, said Contra Costa Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee. The man was armed with a gun and pointed it at three women inside and demanded money. After he fled with money and other items, the women called 911. 

The Sheriff's Department and Walnut Creek police conducted an extensive search for the robber but were not able to locate him.

The robber is described as a white male in his late 30s, wearing tan cargo pants, black shirt, tan-colored bots, and the aforementioned hat. Anyone with any information should call sheriff's investigators at 925-313-2600.
