Vacant Offices off Creekside Drive Damaged in Fire
Fire may have been started by some homeless people living in or near the building.
A fire Tuesday afternoon damaged a vacant office building on Quail Court, fire officials and a witness said.
The fire was reported at about 1:41 p.m., a Contra Costa Consolidated Fire District spokeswoman said.
Few details about the fire were available, but Patch columnist Creek Diva, who lives in the area, said some homeless people had an encampment in or near the building. She said the fire, near the Elks Lodge 1811, damaged some offices and the roof.
