Walnut Creek Police Log: Auto Burglaries, DUI Arrests, Robbery on the Street

Here are some of the incidents that kept Walnut Creek police officers busy last week

Some of the items listed on the Walnut Creek Police Department log from Oct. 14 to Oct. 18.

Monday, Oct. 14

Auto theft: Police were notified at 10:17 a.m. that a 2007 brown Honda Civic had been stolen from Trinity Avenue and North California Boulevard.

Counterfeit bill: A store clerk notified police at 10:57 a.m. that a customer at his shop in the 700 block of Bancroft Road had tried to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

Auto burglary: Officers were notified at 8:56 a.m. that vehicle registration and an insurance card were taken overnight from an unlocked 2002 Chevrolet that was parked in the 3000 block of North Main Street.

Another auto burglary: The owner of a 2013 gray Toyota Tacoma called police at 10:57 a.m. to report the window of his vehicle had been smashed while parked in the 100 block of Roxanne Court. Golf clubs, a laptop and court paperwork were taken.

Yet another auto burglary: Another vehicle owner called police at 5:56 p.m. to report the window on their black Dodge Journey had been smashed while it was parked in the 2800 block of North Main Street. A backpack with cash was stolen.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 7:08 p.m. that the window of a black Infinity SUV had been broken while it was parked in the 2500 block of North Main Street. A black backpack and a black suitcase were taken.

Auto theft: Officers were notified at 9:39 p.m. that a dark green Jeep Cherokee had been stolen from the Las Lomas High School parking lot. It's believed the suspect took the victim's car keys from her gym bag while she was at a school event.

Thursday, Oct. 17

Drunk in public: Police found a 26-year-old man passed out underneath a vehicle at the Toyota car dealership on North Main Street at 12:18 a.m. The man was arrested for public drunkenness.

Home burglary: Officers were dispatched at 7:34 p.m. to a home on the 400 block of Montecillo Drive where a computer and a camera had been stolen in a burglary.

Friday, Oct. 18

DUI arrest: A 39-year-old man was arrested at 1:17 a.m. at Civic Drive and Broadway for driving under the influence.

Robbery on street: Officers were notified that a man punched a woman in the face at 3:03 a.m. in the 200 block of Camel Lane and then stole her wallet and phone.

Another DUI arrest: A 35-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence at 3:13 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Main Street.

Another home burglary: Police were notified at 9:23 p.m. that a home on the 2000 block of Quiet Place Drive had been broken into. Jewelry and coins were stolen.
