Walnut Creek Police Log: Drunk On 21st Birthday, Craig's List Car Theft, Home and Auto Burglaries

Some of the incidents that kept Walnut Creek police busy the first half of last week

Here are some of the items listed on the Walnut Creek Police Department logs from Oct. 26 to Oct. 30.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Drunk in public: A man was arrested at 12:19 a.m. in the 1600 block of Bonanza Street on his 21st birthday for being drunk in public.

Another drunk: A 25-year-old woman was arrested three minutes later at 12:22 a.m. at the corner of Locust Street and Mt. Diablo Boulevard for being drunk in public.

Yet another drunk: A 25-year-old man was arrested at 1:04 a.m. in the 1500 block of Locust Street for public drunkenness.

Not another one!: A 42-year-old man was arrested at 2:05 a.m. in the 1500 block of Civic Drive for being drunk in public.

Weapons arrest: A 24-year-old man was arrested at 6:59 a.m. in the 2300 block of North Main Street for being in possession of a firearm while having a prior conviction as well as possessing a firearm inside a vehicle.

Auto theft: A resident contacted police at 2:23 p.m. to report that the white Ford Explorer they had just purchased from craig's list was now missing from in front of their house in the 1400 block of Ramsay Circle. The victim said the vehicle didn't have any papers when they purchased it for $500. The seller's cell phone is disconnected. The victim had valuables inside the truck.

Another drunk: A 21-year-old man was arrested at 5:36 p.m. in the 1100 block of South California Boulevard for public drunkenness. It was not his birthday.

One more drunk: A 21-year-old man was arrested at 7:38 p.m. at North Broadway and Mt. Diablo Boulevard for being drunk in public. It was not his birthday either.

Sunday, Oct. 27

Driving under the influence: A 21-year-old man at 12:34 a.m. at Locust Street and Cypress Street for driving under the influence. It was also not his birthday.

Vehicle theft: Officers were notified at 2:28 a.m. that a 2008 green Kawasaki was stolen from a garage in the 1700 block of Countrywood Court.

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 10:20 a.m. that a car parked in the 1900 block of Via Appia had been burglarized. The door was opened through a window that was partially open. A purse, credit cards, cell phone and house keys were stolen.

Home burglary: A homeowner called police at 11:47 a.m. to report their home on Greenway Drive had been burglarized. Thief entered through a bathroom window and stole jewelry.

Monday, Oct. 28

Driving under the influence: A 25-year-old woman was arrested at 2:57 a.m. at Alpine Road and Mt. Diablo Boulevard for driving under the influence. It was the same woman who was arrested Saturday night for public drunkenness.

Business burglary: Police were notified at 6:37 a.m. that a business on the 2000 block of Treat Boulevard had been burglarized. Thief pried open a door, took lottery tickets and tried to steal the ATM machine.

Burglary at the skate park: A woman called police at 12:37 p.m. to report her black Prius had its window smashed while parked at the skate park on North San Carlos Drive. A black leather fanny pack, cash, credit cards, an iPhone and several ID cards were stolen.

Another vehicle burglary: Police were notified at 7:25 p.m. that a window had been smashed on a black Dodge Caravan parked in the 1500 block of North California Boulevard. Items taken included a computer and an iPad.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

Brass knuckles: A 31-year-old man was arrested at 6:33 a.m. at a motel in the 2300 block of North Main Street for possession of brass knuckles.

Tools stolen: Police were notified at 6:40 a.m. that tools had been stolen from an unlocked Ford truck parked on the 2100 block of Stewart Avenue. Among the items taken were a gas powered chop saw, two Skil saws, a power grinder and a roto hammer.

Clothing stolen: Police were notified at 4:49 p.m. that $1,400 worth of clothing had been stolen from a business in Broadway Plaza by a blond man in his 30s.

Golf theft: Officers were notified at 6:28 p.m. that golf putters had been stolen from a business in the 2000 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard by a man in his 20s.

Double DUI: Two men were arrested at 9:43 p.m. for driving under the influence after a collision between a blue Hyundai and a white Mercedes in the 1600 block of Locust Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 30

Taser robbery: Police were notified at 12:05 a.m. that a man had been robbed by a suspect armed with a taser near the Lesher Center for the Arts on Civic Drive.

Home burglary: A resident called police at 7:03 a.m. to report their home on the 100 block of Roxanne Court had been burglarized by someone who came in through a faulty patio door. Camera equipment was stolen.
