Walnut Creek Police Log: DUI Arrests, Public Drunkenness, Coffee Throwing Wife

Some of the incidents that kept Walnut Creek police busy this past week

Here are some of the items from the Walnut Creek Police Department logs from Nov. 6-9.

Wednesday, Nov. 6

DUI arrest: A 71-year-old woman was arrested at 12:49 a.m. for driving under the influence after witnesses say they saw her drive her white Infiniti into a white Nissan Sentra in the 1600 block of Ygnacio Valley Road.

Thursday, Nov. 7

Vehicle vandalism: Police were notified at 7:04 p.m. that the window on a blue Mini Cooper had been smashed while it was parked in the 2500 block of Main Street. Nothing appeared to be taken from the vehicle.

Public drunkenness: A 23-year-old man was arrested at 8:55 p.m. for public drunkenness after he was seen yelling at pedestrians at the corner of North Main Street and Mt. Diablo Boulevard.

Another DUI arrest: A 34-year-old woman was arrested at 10:24 p.m. for driving under the influence after her vehicle was stopped at Bancroft Road and Ygnacio Valley Road.

Friday, Nov. 8

Drug arrest: A 19-year-old woman was arrested on various drug possession charges at 2:43 a.m. in the 100 block of Ygnacio Valley Road.

Wallet stolen: Police were notified at 6:36 p.m. that a wallet had been stolen from the Starbucks coffee shop in Broadway Plaza.

Public drunkenness: A 59-year-old man was arrested at 6:39 p.m. for public drunkenness at Ygnacio Valley Road and La Casa Via.

Another drug arrest: A 67-year-old woman was arrested on several drug possession charges at 9:22 p.m. in the 1300 block of Civic Drive.

Saturday, Nov. 9

More public drunkenness: A 21-year-old man was arrested at 12:20 a.m. after he was seen pounding on some glass windows in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Bicycle theft: Officers were notified at 12:21 a.m. that a bicycle had been stolen from the back of a building in the 1500 block of North Main Street.

Yet more drunkenness: Another 21-year-old man was arrested for public drunkenness at 1:47 a.m. at the corner of Locust Street and Cypress Street.

You guessed it: A 23-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication at 5:06 a.m. after he knocked repeatedly on a door in the 1300 block of Mt. Pisgah Road.

Auto burglary: Police were notified at 8:03 a.m. that $400 worth of tools had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle overnight while it was parked in the 600 block of Creekmore Court.

Coffee Throwing: A 60-year-old woman was arrested for assault 9:54 a.m. after she reportedly threw hot coffee on her husband in the 2300 block of English Court.

Stolen bike: Officers were informed at 11:50 a.m. that a 21-speed mountain bike had been stolen from a garage in the 1400 block of Cortez Court.

One more time: A 42-year-old woman was arrested for public drunkenness at 9:43 p.m. after she left a bar that refused service to her in the 1500 block of Olympic Boulevard.
