WCPD: Texting & Driving, Yelling

Also, valuable wine taken from shop, via the skylight, and other daring and criminal acts reported to Walnut Creek police from April 2 to April 4.

April 2
Laptop stolen in window smash. Sometime between 6 p.m. April 1 and 8 a.m. April 2, a window was smashed in a Toyota SUV parked in a back lot on the 1800 block of Trinity Avenue. A Dell laptop valued at $1,000 was stolen, according to a report to Walnut Creek police.

Wall no longer decorative. Around 10 a.m., a vehicle ran into a decorative wall on Tice Creek Drive at Terra Granada Drive and the driver suffered a minor leg injury and was transported to the hospital, police reported.

It can wait. Reported at 4:57 p.m., a 21st century vigilante in a dark sedan was on Civic Drive yelling at multiple motorists for texting while driving. One of the 'victims' told officers she wasn't texting, just looking at the phone. "Advised reporting party it is constitutional right," police reported.

Sports bras. At 5:29 p.m., there was a report of a woman in her 20s, tall and thin, yellow hat, orange shirt, black sweat pants, speaking with a Russian accent, who shoplifted three "Not a bomber" sports bras valued at $120 on the 1600 block of Mount Diablo Boulevard. She was last seen headed for Cost Plus on foot. Police are investigating.

April 3
Loading wine through the skylight? Reported at 11:44 a.m., the Prima wine shop reported $18,000 worth of wine stolen over the past two weeks. A suspect entered through a skylight. Police are investigating.

Flagrant flautist. Around 4:25 p.m., there was a complaint about a flautist playing music at a side entrance to Barnes & Noble, South Main Street, and pausing to make lewd comments to teenage girls. He was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, brown hair and a white shirt. Officers were unable to locate the creepy musician.

April 4
Running on the roof. At 9:35 p.m., police had a report of juveniles running on the roof of the administration building of Northgate High on Castle Rock Road. When officers arrived, they found no one on the scene and the roof secure.
