WCPD: U-turn Through The Bushes

Also, police advice on an out-of-state rape and other reports from the Walnut Creek police blotter from Feb. 24 to Feb. 26.

Feb 24
Lots of smashed windows. Windows were smashed at about 10 different stores at Broadway Plaza, with the reports coming in between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Walnut Creek police are investigating reports that a man in his 20s with brown hair was responsible.

Boat broken into. Over the weekend, someone slit the cover of a boat parked in front of a residence on Second Avenue and stole a music setup with Kenwood marine speakers.

Wrong way. At 7:14 p.m., a 58-year-old driver headed the wrong way on North Main Street was stopped and arrested for DUI.

Feb. 25
Roof rack tangled up. On Ygnacio Valley Road, a vehicle's roof rack was torn off by a PG&E service wire, leaving the wire dangling in the street. PG&E responded and removed the wire.

Be kind to the bushes. A motorist's U-turn involved some pavement and some bushes at a busy intersection, Ygnacio Valley Road and Oak Grove Road. Police had a phone number for the motorist and were pursuing the investigation.

Art-lovin' thieves. Police received a report that, between Feb. 17 and Feb. 19, someone took two paintings from a leasing office in the 1400 block of Creekside Drive.

Pay attention. A man left his white iPad in a brown leather case at Rudgear Park from 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. When he returned, it was gone.

Taxi stiffed. A taxi coming from Oakland dropped a fare off South California Boulevard at 3:05 p.m. and the fare still hasn't come back with the money.

Feb. 26
Tools stolen. At 7:25 a.m., police responded to a back service area on the 2500 block of North Main Street, where a vehicle was broken into through a pried door and a grinder and multiple saws were stolen.

Rape investigation. A woman reported that a man who had raped her in Oregon at the end of January was now at a building on the 1900 block of Trinity Avenue. She was adamant about not wanting a police report on the incident, but just advice regarding the trouble, police reported.
