Eleve Expansion Comes Before Planning Commission

Vietnamese restaurant is looking to extend alcohol service and add live entertainment indoors.

The Walnut Creek Planning Commission on Thursday will review an application to extend alcohol service and live entertainment at Eleve, a Vietnamese restaurant.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 1666 N. Main St.

Eleve, owned by Michelle Nguyen, has been open since 2006 at the corner of North Main Street and Civic Drive. It is seeking a Conditional Use Permit to extend full alcohol service to midnight seven days a week. Its original permit approved alcohol service through 9:30 most evening and 10:30 Fridays and Saturdays.

The Conditional Use Permit also seeks outdoor dining in a new patio area and indoor live entertainment for private parties and wedding receptions.

The staff report notes that Walnut Creek police have deemed that the expansion "would not strain police services given its location, proposed business plan and proposed hours of operation."
