First Occupy Protest of The New Year

Occupy Walnut Creek groups numbers 25 at 4'oclock.

The Occupy Walnut Creek faithful were out downtown on Wednesday evening, protesting the inequities in income distribution and corporate influence on government.

Prudence Capelle of Antioch, who works in Walnut Creek, said she favored an excise (or luxury) tax (as used to be more popular a generation ago) to generate government revenue. "If you can afford a $70,000 car, if you can afford a $70,000 bracelet, if you can afford a $70,000 anything, you should pay a 1 percent excise tax," she said.

The protesters covering the four corners at Mount Diablo Boulevard and Main Street numbered 25 at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

I hate sand in parks. Nice breeding area for lice, and a great place for ferrel cats to poop. IRead More can't wait for them to do the park at Arbolado.

Not sure where you get the idea that wood chips are "much more dangerous". A reasonable overview of the current regulations can be found here: http://risk.utah.gov/newsletter/documents/playground_surfacing.pdf If you disagree with the regulations, please contact your representatives.
