Slow Down For Nighttime Repaving on Treat Boulevard

Project will go on several nights this week; there's also repaving tonight on one block of South Broadway.

With repaving work under way the next several nights, one of Walnut Creek's major boulevards won't be such a Treat.

From Bancroft Road to the city boundary with Concord near Arkell Road, the Treat Boulevard repaving job started Sunday night and is expected to go several more nights.

Also, beginning at 9:00 this evening, a repaving job is scheduled for Broadway between Newell and Mount Diablo.

On Sunday, workers ground two inches off the Treat Boulevard surface, said Alex Wong, associate engineer for the city Public Services Department. The next two nights will involved base repairs. The schedule is to add new asphalt on Wednesday night.

The Treat Boulevard repaving, with one lane of traffic kept open, is from dusk to dawn, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
