Cost Per Square Foot: Homes In Walnut Creek That Have A Higher Price Tag

Check out this two-bedroom, one-bathroom home near downtown Walnut Creek

You get what you pay for, the old saying goes.

That's true for homes as much as anything.

With that in mind, we thought we'd take a look this week at houses that cost more per square foot that most homes in their area.

There are a lot of reasons for the higher price tag. Location is probably the main reason. There can also be amenities as well as the size of the yard.

In Walnut Creek, this two-bedroom, one-bathroom home at 1583 Almond Court is listed at $679,000.

It's 953 square feet, which means it costs more than $680 per square foot.

The home is listed as a cottage with historic charm near downtown. It also underwent an extensive renovation in 2004.
