Examining the Politics of Crime and Punishment

A forum on prison reform is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Mount Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek.

Presented by the Mount Diablo Peace and Justice Center, "The Politics of Crime and Punishment" will be moderated by Carole Travis, who chairs the Peace Center board.
Speakers include Jeanne Woodford, executive director of Death Penalty Focus and former warden of San Quentin State Prison, state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier, St. Mary's College professor Ron Ahnen and former inmate Kenny Johnson.

The cost is $12 general, $10 for Peace Center and church members, and $5 for students.
