Northgate High Hits the Football Line at 7-3

That's their record this fall — as projected by the Cal Preps website.

The projection prognostication is in and it predicts a 7-3 regular season record this year for the Northgate High Broncos.

Mark that down for a digital 7-3. Then we'll see how the guys do when they strap on their pads and bite down on their mouthguards.

The website says the team is strong in the running game and defensive secondary, and weak on experience. (Some of that inexperience went 9-1 — the junior varsity team.)

Top players are listed as lineman Jude Hockel, running back/cornerback San Han and wide receiver/safety Blair Schmidt.

For 2010, when the team was 9-3, the website ranked the Broncos 316 in the state and 3,855 in the nation.

To repeat the key information from our first piece, the "Battle for the Creek" this year is at 7 p.m. Sept 23, Las Lomas at Northgate.

On Tuesday night, d approved a $650,000 contract to build bleachers at Northgate's new football field. The Northgate Pride Foundation is expected to pick up $150,000 of that.
