High School Football: Northgate and Las Lomas Both Win Big

The Broncos crush Mt. Diablo High while the Knights win comfortably against Dublin High

Northgate High's football team continued its unbeaten season by trouncing Mt. Diablo High, 65-8, at home on Friday night.

Eric Haynes ran for four touchdowns and Kyle Austin threw for three more as Northgate built up a 55-8 halftime lead.

The Broncos are now 6-0 on the season and 1-0 in league play.

They're on the road next week to play Concord High School.

Mt. Diablo High is now 2-4 on the season and 0-1 in league play.

Las Lomas High, meanwhile, took care of Dublin High, 30-14, in Dublin on Friday night.

The two teams played a scoreless first quarter before Las Lomas crossed the goal line twice in the second period for a 14-0 lead.

The Knights built up a 30-0 advantage in the third quarter and then cruised to victory.

Las Lomas is now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in league.

They face undefeated Campolindo High at home next Friday.

Dublin High fell to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in league.

Berean Christian High plays El Cerrito High at home, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The Eagles have lost three straight.
