Tiffany is a Walnut Creek-based artist, writer, and mother of two whose interest in art started at a young age. In college, she studied English literature, and has no formal art training. Tiffany’s first love was writing; when she was young, she started keeping journals, and still finds inspiration from her journal entries for her acrylic paintings and sketches. Tiffany used her journals to write short stories and graphic novels, in addition to her day-to-day musings and short stories.

Much of Tiffany’s inspiration for her pieces come from her dreams. She says: “I started having recurring dreams about organs in our bodies having conscientiousness and trying to evolve outside of serving the survival of the human conscientiousness. They were not frightening. Some even made me laugh after I awoke. I enjoy trying to recreate these experiences when I am awake.”

Tiffany also finds inspiration from other artists: Jackson Pollock and Frida Kahlo are her two favorite artists; Pollock because of his drip-paint method and the fact that much of his dark past came out in his work, and Kahlo for both her strength and weaknesses throughout her own life which lead her to create the paintings she did.

Tiffany had an exhibit of her work in June 2013 in downtown Walnut Creek and does private viewings to art buyers and galleries upon request. For her artwork, Tiffany uses acrylic paint, stating she is too impatient for oil. On her approach to art all around, she says: “I think there is freedom in just creating whatever vision you have and excitement in letting it evolve as you make it. I think people confuse perfectionism with commitment and care in a project.”
