Second Saturday Walk with the Mayor - The Secret of Shell Ridge

Join Mayor Bob Simmons the second Saturday of the month for interesting walks through various locations in Walnut Creek. No RSVP required, but remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water!

How did Shell Ridge get its name? Learn the secret of Shell Ridge on this walk in Walnut Creek's open space. Meet at the Marshall Drive entrance by Indian Valley Elementary School for an 8:30 a.m. departure. (Note earlier start time!) This is a 3.5 mile walk on both fire roads and single-track trails with about 400' of elevation change, and will last about 2 hours. Please bring water and wear a hat and clothing to protect against the sun. Don't forget the sunscreen! Parking is limited at the Marshall Drive entrance; carpools encouraged. Click for walking route.
